Through our relationship with Salvadorans abroad and their social and economic dynamics, we are aware that remittances are mostly destined for consumption, losing the opportunity to generate other income through investments and the development of family businesses; especially in rural areas.
We consider it important to promote the "entrepreneurial spirit" with communities and educational centers in order to improve the administration of family resources and the development of businesses that improve and diversify the local economy. FUPEC acts as a link and catalyst between communities abroad, cooperators, institutions and local communities to support the promotion of entrepreneurship and economic development; which includes the component of financial education and sustainable consumption.
PROMOTION OF THE ECONOMIC AND LOCAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP

SALEX -Salvadorans Abroad

We are also aware that entrepreneurs operating in rural areas face a series of unique challenges that do not usually occur in an urban context. These challenges derive mainly from the varying levels of accessibility in rural areas, the small size and low population density of rural communities, their socio-economic structure, and the type of ties they maintain among themselves and with the outside world.
It is important to carry out actions to promote local enterprises that include, in addition to training and technical assistance, equipment and other resources that compensate for existing limitations. We also consider it essential to establish cooperative relationships with municipalities and institutions related to territorial and local economic development to support them in strengthening t
heir strategies and for the generation of conditions of sustainability for the processes supported by FUPEC.
Our experience also includes the development of entrepreneurship programs with educational centers and international cooperation. That have resulted in orientation and vocational training actions; which has made it possible to expand the life horizon of the participants through the learning of new economic options and administrative techniques.
DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM OF BUSINESS CAPACITIES AND ORIENTATION OF TRANSNATIONAL REMITTANCES, IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP, PRODUCTIVE AND TECHNOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES IN EL SALVADOR
This program was
carried out in a strategic alliance and with the support of the INTER-AMERICAN FOUNDATION, an autonomous body of the US government, it was also created by Congress in 1969 to channel development assistance directly to organized poor sectors of Latin America and the Caribbean.
The IAF is fulfilling its mandate by responding with donations to the most creative self-help ideas received from grassroots groups and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in response to its annual call for proposals.
It also favors the formation of alliances between community organizations, companies and local governments aimed at improving the quality of life of the poor and strengthening democratic practices.
